Barren Point Beach Near the Jordan Recreation Area Barren Point is part of the Jordan Area group of natural sand beaches in the Big Creek Arm of Norfork Lake. This white sand beach, ½ mile in length, is accessible by boat only. Bidwell Point Park106 Bidwell Park Point AR State Highway 101 first access road just north of the 101 bridge. Bidwell Point has camping with water and electric at most sites, shaded picnic areas and a group shelter. There is a boat launching ramp, swimming beach area, playgrounds, flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, and a sanitary dump station. Open April 1- September 30. Boggy CreekCounty Rd. 17 GPS Coordinates (latitude, longitude) 36.19, -92.07 (approximate) This remote area located on the Big Creek Arm in the southeast area of the Norfork Lake has a launch ramp, parking area, picnic tables and good shore fishing. Open year round. Calamity BeachCounty Rd. 24 Take AR Highway 201 North to County Rd 37 east, then County Rd. 472 to County Rd 24. Calamity Beach is a good place to spread a blanket on the beach. Cranfield Park2028 Cranfield Road GPS Coordinate (latitude, longitude) 36.40277, -92.319 Newly renovated, Cranfield Park is on the central portion of Norfork Lake. Facilities include 2 boat launch areas with courtesy dock, swimming beach area, picnic areas, 2 group shelters, 0.75 mile nature trail, 2 playgrounds and an amphitheater. Cranfield Park has shaded campsites – all sites have electric and water hookups. There are flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, and a sanitary dump station. Closest park to Mountain Home. Boat launch ramp is open all year. Gamaliel Recreation Area53 Gamaliel Park Point AR Highway 101 to Fout Road (County Road 42) to the park. GPS Coordinates (latitude, longitude) 36.42111, -92.22222 This park has excellent facilities and is located on the scenic north area of the Bennetts Bayou Arm of Norfork Lake. Gamaliel has a boat launch ramp with courtesy dock, swimming beach area, picnic areas, group shelter, playground, nature interpretive area, and a 1 mile nature trail. There are 64 campsites, most shaded or with canopies over the picnic tables. All sites have 30 amp electric hookups. The park has flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, and a sanitary dump station. The campground is open April 1 – September 30. Boat launch ramp is available all year. Georges Cove Recreation AreaCounty Rd. 1140, off of Sycamore Springs Rd. GPS Coordinates (latitude, longitude) 36.1730, -92.15 Georges Cove provides good lake access to the southern portion of Norfork Lake. Facilities include a boat launch with a courtesy dock, drinking water, vault toilets, and a sanitary dump station. Hand Cove Recreation AreaHand Cove Road (County Road 91) US Highway 62 East of Henderson to Hand Cove Road GPS Coordinates- (latitude, longitude) 36.1725, -92.1215 (approximate) This public day use area has a boat launch ramp and parking. The area has a gradual walk to the water with good locations for shoreline fishing. It has no toilet or drinking water facilities but is a good place to have a bring a blanket picnic, swim, or fish along the lake shore. This is the northern gateway to the Hand Cove/Jordan Area beaches, the Jordan and White Bluffs, and Sand Island. Open year round. Henderson Park299 Henderson Park Point GPS Coordinates- (latitude, longitude) 36.3708, -92.2342 This park just off of Highway 62 east in Henderson has 2 boat launch ramps with a courtesy dock, flush toilets, picnic grounds and a group shelter. The campground has 38 campsites with 30 amp electric hook ups, offers scenic Norfork Lake views and is located in the central portion of the lake. The park has drinking water and both marine and trailer dump stations. Howard Cove Recreation Area565 Howard Cove Road GPS Coordinates (latitude, longitude) 36.40643, -92.249 Boat launch ramp, parking, vault toilets. Campsites with picnic tables in a park like setting overlooking Norfork Lake. Most sites have electric and water hookups. Camping reservations are suggested. Boat launch ramp is open year round. Jordan Recreation Area2923 Jordan Landing Road North of AR Highway 177 GPS Coordinates (latitude, longitude) 36.42095, -92.22459 This recreational area on the southeast end of Norfork Lake has a boat launch with courtesy dock, a swim beach, picnic areas, and a group shelter. Campsites, most with 30 amp electric hookups, are in an area shaded by towering pines. Several sites are along the bluff overlooking Norfork Lake. The park has flush and vault toilets, drinking water and a sanitary dump station. This is the southern gateway to the Jordan/Hand Cove area beaches, Jordan and White Bluffs and Sand Island. This secluded area on the northern portion of Norfork Lake provides a lake access with parking in the area south of Udall Missouri.
The Norfork National Fish Hatchery & Dry Run Creek1414 Highway 177 South The Norfork National Fish Hatchery is located below the Norfork Dam. Established in 1955, the Norfork National Fish Hatchery is a cold water hatchery primarily for the production of trout to restock the tail waters below Norfork and other dams. The hatchery raises three kinds of trout: rainbow, brown and cutthroat. In addition, Norfork National Fish Hatchery also provides trout to reservoirs and in cooperation with state game and fish agencies distributes fish throughout Arkansas and other nearby states. Visitors are welcome to tour the visitor center and hatchery, open from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm daily. Special group tours can be arranged by calling the hatchery in advance of visiting. Free catch and release fishing is available in Dry Run Creek at the hatchery site for handicapped persons and children under the age of 16. An accessible ramp, paved walk and picnic tables are available beside Dry Run Creek. The scenic area around Dry Run Creek is a great place for photo opportunities and a good outing for the family. Panther Bay Recreational Area Panther Bay Loop & AR Highway 101 ½ mile north of US 62 & AR 101 Intersection GPS Coordinate (latitude, longitude) 36.37395, -92.25222 This well developed recreational area in the central portion of Norfork Lake has 2 boat launches with courtesy dock, a playground, picnic areas, group shelters, and a swimming beach. The trailhead for David’s Trail is in the Day use area at Panther Bay. The wooded campground has some sites with electricity. There are showers, flush and vault toilets, and a sanitary dump station. All campsites are first come, first served. One boat launch ramp is open all year. Pigeon Creek Recreation Area Highway 201 north of Mountain Home GPS Coordinates (latitude, longitude) 36.2430, -92.20.30 This day use area has approximately 10 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails with trail heads and parking areas on both sides of Highway 201. The trails range from beginner to moderate and provide access to scenic and remote areas of Norfork Lake. The boat launch has a courtesy dock. Picnic tables are available and the area is good for shoreline fishing. Quarry Park Public Use AreaAR Highway 177 & The Norfork Lake Dam GPS Coordinates (latitude, longitude) 36.260992, -92.241819 Quarry Park offers a variety of services. The day use area on Norfork Lake has a newly renovated swim beach, boat launch with courtesy dock, playground, picnic area, pavilion, volleyball court, basketball goal, flush toilets, drinking water, and a hiking trailhead. Also available is a group camp area with 7 sites (no hookups), vault toilet, and picnic shelter. The recently renovated Dam-Quarry Campground is located ¼ of a mile from this day use area, along the North Fork River, downstream of the Norfork Lake Dam, and provides access to world-class trout fishing below the Norfork Dam. This park has a group shelter, flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, campsites with 30 and 50 amp electric and water hookups, sanitary dump station, river boat launching ramp, 2 playgrounds, marina services and boat rentals. This is the western gateway to the Jordan/Hand Cove area beaches, the Jordan and White Bluffs, and Sand Island. Open all year. Open all year. Robinson Point Recreation Area2390 Robinson Point Road (Off US62 E to County Rd. 279) GPS Coordinates (latitude, longitude) 36.3528, -92.2394 This large, newly renovated park is at the central portion of the lake. The boat launch has a courtesy dock. There is a swimming beach area, picnic area, group shelter, playground, and 3 mile National Recreation Trail. The camping area has 102 sites with 30 and 50 amp electric hookups. There are showers, flush and vault toilets, drinking water and a sanitary dump station. Open April 1- October 31. Sand Island (Jordan Island) In the Big Creek Arm The place to be and be seen in the summer. As its name implies, this island of naturally occurring sand is unique amongst the Ozark Mountain lakes. This very popular beach, with its oasis type tree shaded interior, can be accessed only by boat. Located in the center of the Big Creek Arm, between the Hand Cove and Jordan Recreation Areas. Tecumseh Recreation AreaAdjacent to U.S. Highway 160 at Tecumseh, MO. It is a smaller park with 7 campsites without hookups. The park has vault toilets, drinking water, and a launching ramp. It is located on the upper reaches of the lake in more of a river setting. 7 campsites without electric hookups, vault toilets, sanitary dump station, drinking water. This area is popular for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. White Bluff Beach In the Big Creek Arm This remote natural sand beach is for those trying to avoid the crowds. Somewhat secluded and accessible by boat only, the natural sand draws those planning to “make it a day on the beach”. Located immediately to the southwest of Sand Island and to the east of White Bluff, there is plenty of room to spread out your beach base camp.
